In Tranekær Slotshave you will find a spectacular cultural garden where art and nature take center stage – namely TICKON. The purpose of the center is to invite artists to create a dialogue with nature on Langeland and to document the considerations that artists from many countries make when meeting Danish nature.
The art in Tranekær Slotshave is made on the spot and for the spot by artists from all over the world who have chosen nature as their collaboration partner. This also means that transformation and volatility become significant factors in the works. The vast majority of the artists have worked with materials obtained from Langland's nature, but with exceptions in the form of materials and media in short periods.
This has been the prerequisite for the – eventually many – artists who have helped to make their mark in TICKON since 1993. Some works still stand, new ones have been added, others have disappeared. See boats present and previously works here.
COUNTRY ART
But what is natural art? Nature art - also called land art or environmental art - are some of the terms that individually and collectively characterize works that are created outdoors and in interaction with a given section of nature. These are therefore not figures of, for example, marble and bronze, but rather perishable constructions of branches and stones.
